THROUGH EGYEPT

  • TRAVELERS GUIDE :
**Carry along your suitcase or backpack that gives you comfort .Suitcases are less likely to get caught in baggage conveyors, easier to store, great in airports and hotels  floors but you can't carry most suitcases for more than a few minutes.Let not talk about picking a taxi, booking your hotels and hostels in advance. You lose freedom. And this is where backpack could be of great help. Don't forget that a travellers freedom is one of the most important features of the journey.
**Clothing-fortunately Africa has only two major seasons with exception of some very few countries other than that you will need more light clothes and a few long sleeves for warm nights and mosquitoes. But beware of harmattan seasons.
** 2x Lightweight shirts/blouses - long sleeves - for warm nights with mosquitoes about, and which can double up as slightly smarter wear.
** 2x Light weight travel trousers, long legs, suitable for trekking. Consider zip off trousers/pants that turn into shorts it reduces the burden of caring extra shorts and pants.
** 4x Tshirts
** 4x shorts/skirts.
** Socks and underwear - matter of some debate, between 5 and 10 pairs.
** Shoes - designed for hiking/walking, but also not so shabby as to look out of place in a restaurant.
** Sandals - for when you're not wearing the shoes.
** Plastic slippers - flip flops as well, for use in showers or just lounging around.
** Second bag - light weight, collapses down to a small size, designed to be packed away 90% of the time
** Duct Tape - essential, massively strong tape good for fixing just about anything. Black electrical tape, slightly different uses.
** Guidebook - maximum two, one for your destination and the next area, you'll have to pick up the rest as you go, carrying too many is too crazy.
** First Aid Kit - bandages, disinfectant wipes, antiseptic cream, pain killers.
** Sun glasses - remember Africa is on of the hottest continents especially in the northern part where countries experience more sunny conditions. Get a good quality pair that protects against UV in your home country, those on the streets often come from dubious origin and may not protect your eyes against harmful UV rays.
** Swimsuit - For the sunny beaches
** Sleeping bag - for the occasions where you don't have bedding provided, or    you just feel like a camper trust it.
** cotton sleeping bag during warm conditions.
** Earplugs - if you can wear these, they are very essential. You may be in dormitories where someone snores, where the doors bang, where the sound of the motorway next door is too loud for sleep .Someone may love it but you can't keep up with this nuisance. Earplugs will allow you to sleep when otherwise you can't.
** Eye-mask - dormitory lights go on and off so do bus lights.so to avoid the distraction of a good shut-eye go for comfort.
